Microphones

Every Communicator keypad features an in-built microphone, ensuring all audience members are given an equal opportunity to speak at events.

Audience members wishing to speak simply press the activation button on their Communicator keypad and speak into it in the same way as they would use a mobile phone.

The microphone system operates on a first come, first served basis. This means that the first participant to press the activation button will be the first to speak.

When an audience member is speaking, all other microphones are deactivated to prevent interruption from other participants.

Microphones can be deactivated at any stage, allowing you greater control over live discussions and Q&A sessions.

Operating the microphone

The microphone system operates two modes of use: Latch mode and Press to Talk mode.

Latch mode

Participants press the activation button on their Communicator to open their microphone and then press it again to close it after they have finished speaking.

Press to Talk mode

Participants press the activation button to open the microphone and keep the button pressed down whilst they are speaking. The microphone automatically closes when the participant releases their finger.

Benefits of the Microphone system >

Save time and money

Every participant has instant access to their own personal microphone, negating the need for hostesses and roving microphones. The system also speeds-up Q&A, as participants no longer have to wait for a microphone to reach them.

Added value

The Communicator is the only keypad that combines audio with instant voting, enabling you to gauge audience opinion on subjects raised during live Q&A sessions.

Easy integration

The Communicator base station links directly to the PA system.
