What is Text Response?

Text Response software enables your audience to send instant text messages from the Communicator keypad.

How does Text Response work?

In the same way that text messages are sent from a mobile phone, delegates simply type their messages into the Communicator and press send. Delegates can send multiple text messages during each session.

Text messages from your audience are immediately received by a control laptop, where they can be quickly reviewed, filtered and prioritised before they are displayed live.

Applications >

Training sessions

Enabling your audience to answer questions via text messaging means that you are no longer restricted to using just multiple choice question formats during examinations and training sessions. Text messaging allows participants to submit answers in their own words, with the following benefits:

  • You can be confident that delegates have not guessed the answer from a multiple choice format.
  • Learning is enhanced, as active participation during training sessions ensures delegates are kept engaged and interested in what they are being taught.
  • Feedback data can be used post-event to assess employee strengths and weaknesses, allowing you to identify areas where further training may be required.
  • Asking questions using a wider variety of question formats will help to ensure that delegates remain involved and engaged throughout training sessions.

Q&A sessions

Message Manager - IML's text message management software gives you greater control over the direction of a debate or Q&A session, as you decide which text messages will be displayed live to your audience, ensuring the session remains focussed and constructive.

The software also ensures that your Q&A sessions are fully accessible and inclusive, as all delegates are given an equal opportunity to have their say via text messages. This is a particularly valuable tool for gaining insight into the thoughts and opinions of delegates who would not normally have the confidence to speak aloud at a conference.

Feedback

Text Response enables delegates to submit text messages throughout a meeting or conference, allowing you to gain valuable insight into their thoughts and opinions. Your responses to delegate's unanswered questions and comments received via the text messaging function can be posted onto your company's website at a later date.

Brainstorming sessions

Instantly capture a group's ideas and opinions and display their text messages live to fuel further discussion. You could even cast a live vote to gauge audience opinion on questions and comments received via text message.

Quizzes

Enhance fun quizzes by getting teams to text-in the missing word from a famous phrase or comment.

Benefits

Using up to 127 characters of text, delegates can text-in as many questions and comments as they choose.

Delegates can submit opinions in their own words.

No longer are you restricted to a limited choice of question formats. Delegates can now respond to both pre-prescribed and 'open' question formats.

Feedback is in real time allowing important issues to be dealt with immediately.

IML's text messaging function carries no time restraints and can be enabled for as long as you need it. For example, text messaging could be used in response to a question with a short time limit or you may choose to use text messaging during a brainstorming session or coffee break.

You decide which text messages will be displayed live to your audience, allowing you greater control over the direction of your meeting.

The text messaging function gives everyone an equal opportunity to have their say, encouraging participation from delegates who might normally be reluctant to speak aloud at a conference.

Your audience can submit text messages anonymously. This allows delegates the opportunity to express their true opinions and increases the quality of your feedback data.

Alternatively, Smartcard I.D technology can be used to identify delegates individually or by team number.

Access to the text messaging function can be controlled by restricting the use to only those issued with Smartcards.

Measure changes in perception and opinions by comparing delegate responses to the same question asked before and after a presentation.

All feedback is stored to a database for post-event analysis.
