Case Study

This was a launch event for Yorkshire and the Humber with the aim of targeting Health Care Associated Infections (HCAI), particularly looking at measures to reduce clostridium difficile (c diff.)across the region.
The event, held in Leeds, brought together a broad range of health care professionals including Infection Control Managers, Pharmacists, Modern Matrons, Infection Control Nurses and Microbiologists.

Used throughout, the IML Communicator keypads brought an interactive element to the day and engaged the audience as they explored the impact on the NHS and its users of poor behaviour in infection control.

The IML system was initially used to find out what control measures the delegates currently have in place in their organisation but it also proved to be an invaluable tool to learn how practises could be improved.

This was particularly evident in the 'Drama for Training' Session where typical healthcare scenarios were acted out and the audience were asked to respond to questions relating to the sketches and how things could have been done differently.

Here the keypads not only provided a great way to immediately gauge information levels in the room but also provoked highly valuable discussions and debates and encouraged the sharing of information.

The delegates felt that they gained a lot of knowledge from the event and loved the fact they could actively participate and put forward their thoughts and share best practise.   Some even commented that they wanted to use the keypad system 'even more'!

This was a launch event for NHS North Yorkshire and the Humber and it went down so well that they are already planning future events.

Testimonials

"IML provided a great service from start to finish and were efficient throughout.   I had concerns about the amount of different technologies we were having on-site but the IML producers really helped us out and became our 'technical support'.   Absolutely brilliant!"

"Using the IML system you get information very quickly and get a feeling of what is really happening in practise.   It's also a great way to provoke discussions and encourage everyone to share ideas and best practise.   We have used the IML system on a previous event and were impressed; I would certainly recommend them."

“The IML staff were very efficient, flexible and responsive”   - David Thompson, Acting Director Patient Care & Partnerships.
